Singer-songwriter Gwen Stefani of the band No Doubt is selling her five-bedroom, Mediterranean-style house at 2566 Aberdeen Avenue in Los Angeles’ Los Feliz neighborhood for $4,795,000.
News of the listing first was reported on March 18 by the excellent Real Estalker website (http://realestalker.blogspot.com), which so often delivers the scoop. The Real Estalker (who goes by the moniker Your Mama) gave a great heads-up about a virtual tour for the house, at a website that uses
the house’s address. The Real Estalker also
heaped deserved praise on Stefani for having “lovingly restored and decorated the house,” and for maintaining and highlighting its 1920s integrity.
A bit behind the curve, the Los Angeles Times’
“Hot Property” column yesterday wrote on Stefani’s listing as well, providing little additional information beyond what the Real Estalker noted.
So why is Stefani listing the 4,926-square-foot house in Los Feliz, which she purchased in 1998 for $1,375,000 through her Von Trapp Trust? The reason is because Stefani finally has moved into the six-bedroom, 9,001-square-foot mansion at 11951 Crest Place in the gated Hollywood Hills community known as the Summit (which, we should note, has the coveted 90210/Beverly Hills ZIP code), which she purchased in August 2006 for $13,250,000, also through her Von Trapp Trust, according to public records. Contrary to what the Times reported yesterday, Stefani didn’t pay “slightly less” than the Crest Place house’s $15.5 million asking price, unless you believe that 15% less (or $2.25 million less) connotes “slightly.” Stefani purchased the Crest Place house from hospitality mogul Sam Nazarian, who himself bought it in 2004 for $12.5 million from none other than Jennifer Lopez (through her Crest Place Trust).
As

As for Stefani’s Los Feliz house, there’s probably little about it that we can say that others haven’t reported. The house has four bathrooms, a two-story grand entry with a sweeping wrought iron circular staircase and stenciled beams, a ste-down living room with a 25-foot cathedral-beamed ceiling and a massive wood-burning stone fireplace, a chef’s kitchen with top-of-the-line Viking appliances and Malibu tile, a stained-glass atrium that opens to a private courtyard, a media room with a drop-down movie screen and blackout shades, a Spanish tiled pool and spa with a cascading waterfall, a private pool cabana with an outdoor sitting area and fireplace, and a three-car garage and motor court, according to listing information and the Real Estalker.
However, we can also add two other observations to the growing information of dirt on Gwen’s housing:
–Stefani still owns one other house in L.A. In April 1999, through her Von Trapp Trust, Stefani paid $350,000 for a two-bedroom, 1,160-square-foot house at 727 N. Gardner Street in West Hollywood that was built in 1923, according to public records. It’s unclear why she purchased it or what she uses it for, but some other property purchases in Orange County made by a Jennifer Stefani have shown the Gardner Street address as a home. As such, one can assume that Jennifer Stefani is a relative of Gwen’s. Is she Gwen’s sister or mother? Nope. Gwen’s mother is Patti Stefani, and her lone sister is Jill Stefani.
–Aberdeen Avenue in Los Feliz may sound familiar to some of you street address hounds. Indeed, actor Noah Wyle has been a longtime fan of Los Feliz, and he purchased his first house in Los Feliz at 2666 Aberdeen Avenue (yes, just one digit off of Gwen Stefani’s house) in 2001 for an undisclosed price. He sold that house (a Spanish Colonial estate) in late 2004 for $3,325,000, according to public records
